HOLY WIRE’S NEW TRACK “WORSE FOR WEAR” IS A MUST-ADD TO YOUR PLAYLIST

Artist Holy Wire has caught my attention with their new single, “Worse For Wear.” The track is about coming to terms with the fallout of a past relationship. There is acceptance and regret: “I’ll never be who I was before I met you / but that’s alright; we all move on, whether or not we want to.” The band has similarities to other synth-pop bands like Future Islands and Black Marble.

The melancholy lyrics ring through my ears; they tell a story and are conversing with the bass guitar and drum machines. The voice of the song makes me want to replay it until I’ve memorized it. The sound, although very modern, takes me back to an 80s aesthetic. This song most definitely would have been placed on a Stranger Things soundtrack as well as Twin Peaks.

Take a listen now and tell me where this song transports you. :)
