“HALLELUJAH (MOVIN THROUGH YA)” BY MARISA FINLEY IS AN ETHEREAL, MELANCHOLIC INDIE-POP DREAM
Canadian singer-songwriter Marisa Finley has outdone herself with her latest track, “Hallelujah (Movin Through Ya.” This dreamy single feels like a walk through a grassy, enchanted forest straight out of your favorite storybook.
Finley’s ability to establish a world where her music can be lived is unmatched. Fans of Lana Del Rey would love the escapist energy that Finley has created; however, the songstress utilizes melancholia very uniquely, avoiding doom and gloom but still being honest with her audience.
The chorus is enchanting. Listeners, beware—you may get lost in the song’s instrumental, brought forth by Finley’s intentionally breathy vocal range.
A big finish rounds out the emotional, magical track. Without it, we might have been left on a cliffhanger, but Finley finished this story in just one part—”Hallelujah (Movin Through Ya)” is truly fantastic storytelling work.
