Philadelphia-based hardcore band Gridiron has unveiled their latest single, "Mascot," as a precursor to their forthcoming album, Poetry From Pain, set for release on May 30!

Formed during the pandemic, Gridiron comprises members from notable acts such as Never Ending Game, Simulakra, and Scarab, bridging the hardcore scenes of Philadelphia, Delaware, and Michigan. Their unique blend of metal, hardcore, and hip-hop has garnered attention, leading to their signing with Blue Grape Music, joining a roster that includes Code Orange and GEL.

The "Mascot" music video, directed by Dan Centrone, features the band navigating the streets of Los Angeles in a Rolls Royce, embodying their unflinching aggression and style.. Vocalist Matthew Karll explains that the track addresses individuals who fail to follow through on their commitments. "'Mascot' is about people who say they are going to do things and don't follow through with them, no matter what it is."

Poetry From Pain will feature collaborations with artists such as nothing, nowhere., Mike "Truck" Ryan, and Big Body Bes. The album's tracklist includes:

  1. 26/9

  2. Mascot

  3. Army Of None

  4. Best Served Cold

  5. Tombstone

  6. Still Playin' For Keeps (Big Umbrella Remix)

  9. Roses (feat. Mike "Truck" Ryan)

  10. Talk Real

  11. Paydirt
