GRAB YOUR UMBRELLA, DEVIN MØRE JUST UNLEASHED A “PERFECT STORM”

Fall is a time of change – whether that be through weather, outfits, or even relationship status- DEVIN MØRE wants to explore this position in “Perfect Storm.”

The track starts slow and dreamy, entering the headspace of MØRE as he navigates this confusing era of life. As the beat picks up, you’re immediately hit with the intensity of these feelings, still tasting his ex “on his lips,” starting the longing theme that the track carries.

The vocals have a slight mumble to them, but still maintain that authentic, clear tone that represents the messy pain in his heart. To me, it showcases the authentic, untamed feeling that distance may cause.

The backing guitar is excellent: it’s a little fuzzy, distorted, and really complements the breakcore beat. The overall tone is very smooth and well-produced.

This track takes on a chill, modern indie pop vibe – it's upbeat while still maintaining the melancholy mood polished by the lyrics. That little edgy and alternative vibe pokes its head out, which really adds to the power of the song.

I’m a massive fan of the melody and the vocals as a whole, but I will say it sounds incredibly similar to his previously released song from May, “Now it’s Over.” Super, all of the background instrumentals really make it wonderful. 

Even so, “Perfect Storm” is still a great track – It’s a song to listen to when floating in a foggy forest.
