GLOB RETURNS WITH SWEET NEW SINGLE “SEAWATER”

My introduction to GLOB began earlier this year when I was sent the first singles from this album rollout. Since then, GLOB has been on my mind; their infectious energy is palpable within every mix, and “Seawater” is no different from the five other singles from this upcoming record. I love hearing an omnichord in any song, but it was a real treat to hear in sparkly “Seawater.”

This single is extraordinarily forward-thinking. Lately, nostalgia has been the move, captivating people’s inner child with full album playthroughs of their favorite records from 20 years ago. However, GLOB counters this motion by suggesting the future could be brighter than the past ever was…and they mean it!

The song offers a cinematic, climactic build that transcends a traditional crescendo. They aren’t relying on volume alone to create this momentum; specific energy drives everything. It’s gorgeous to hear the extraordinarily satisfying resolution by the end, suggesting that introspection is a beautiful thing that can lead to long-sought contentment.

Sonically, the guitar work is phenomenal. The Strokes-y Albert Hammond Jr. stylistic influence fits in well with this mix, blending in nicely with the omnichord’s twinkly synths. This is the best vocal performance I’ve ever heard from GLOB. “Seawater” asserts that GLOB is ready to take things to the next level, catapulting to unprecedented superstardom thanks to their creative prowess.
