Progressive metalcore heavyweights After the Burial are back with a vengeance on their latest single, “Hum From the Hollow.” Released via Sumerian Records, this explosive track marks their first new music in nearly two years since the Embrace the Infinity EP.

From the very first riff, “Hum From the Hollow” showcases After the Burial’s signature blend of technical precision and raw aggression. Twin-helix guitars driven by Trent Hafdahl interlock with Anthony Notarmaso’s visceral vocals, anchored by Adrián Oropeza’s brutal low end and Dan Carle’s machine-tight drumming. The production leans into brutal clarity while letting moments of stripped-back heaviness breathe—demonstrating the band’s evolution and confidence.

In a statement, Hafdahl told Kill the Music that the song represents one of many intense reflections on anger:

“Sometimes you have to strip it all down and give the fans something to let their anger out to, so that’s what we did here.”

Fans are already sounding off online. On Reddit’s r/Metalcore, one user declared,

“Wow, welcome the fuck back dudes”—a sentiment echoed across comment threads praising the track’s crushing breakdowns and polished mixing.

The track arrives ahead of After the Burial’s support slot on We Came as Romans’ “Bad Luck” North American tour, joining Currents and Johnny Booth in delivering an arsenal of new music directly to fans live. Tour dates kick off July 22 in Toronto and hit The Wiltern in Los Angeles on August 9.
