You can call Footballhead several descriptors, like “Midwest emo,” “grunge rock,” “butt rock,” or even “mom’s car playlist,” but ultimately, all roads lead back to calling Footballhead “a great band.” Born as a passion project, Footballhead is dedicated to continuously impressing audiences across the board with each rollout, including and especially with their latest single, “Stupefied.”

It’s all coming together! “Stupefied” is the third of three singles that will eventually make up a ‘Before I Die’ EP. This was the perfect missing puzzle piece, driving home lyrical themes and intentional sonic choices to create an absolute banger.

Frontman Ryan Nolen has impressively improved upon his songwriting skills relatively quickly, becoming a natural storyteller following the success of Footballhead’s first full-length LP.

The group’s instrumental is as tight as ever, but they get better with each new drop. Bands are always much more enjoyable when you can tell they love to play music together. Regardless of the instrument you focus on as a listener, everyone in the group participates equally, contributing interesting, natural choices to the mix.

“Stupefied” features emotive guitar playing (Liam Burns), audible bass shredding (Adam Siska), intuitive drumming (Robby Kuntz), and killer vocals, all culminating into a fantastic mix (Snow Ellet).
