FOO FIGHTERS DRUMMER TAYLOR HAWKINS DEAD AT 50

The music world was stunned last night after news broke that iconic Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins had died at age 50. Hawkins was on tour with Foo Fighters in Colombia and was slated to perform with the band last night when he was found dead in his hotel room at the Four Seasons Hotel Casa Medina. No official cause of death has been released as of yet. Foo Fighters issued this crushing statement later that evening:

Hawkins was one of the most famed musicians in the world. The Laguna Beach, CA native’s immense talent and life long passion for drums led him to catching his big break in 1995 when he joined Alanis Morissette’s live band and toured supporting her massive Jagged Little Pill album. In 1997, Hawkins joined ex-Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl’s new band, Foo Fighters; and the rest was rock music history. 25 years, eight studio albums, a dozen Grammys, millions of records sold around the world and a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction later, Taylor Hawkins left an enormous mark in the music world. Universally loved and renowned as one of the greatest drummers of his generation, Taylor Hawkin’s tragic passing is absolutely devastating news. He is survived by his wife Alison and their three children.
