FOLIAGE’S “ONE SIDE WAITS WHILE THE OTHER FAKES” IS SUBDUED, CYNICAL DARK POP

Indie rock artist Foliage, AKA Manuel Joseph Walker, shows an affinity or least being influenced by The Smiths and/or Morrissey with a contemporary twist, as well as Prefab Sprout on “One Side Waits While The Other Fakes.”

The melodic single has a definitive edge and hard-boiled attitude, delving into depiction and risk. Still, it musically has a candy-coated, bright sheen with soft, pretty, and shimmering lush melodies. Foliage vocal isn’t forceful or strongly pronounced, but it’s nice, passable, and complimentary to the single.

Foliage is a 26-year-old multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer from San Bernardino, CA. He is being touted as one of today's most celebrated bedroom producers. The musical wunderkind also taught himself to play guitar and piano.

“One Side Waits While The Other Fakes” is a bright song with a singular point of view. This young artist has experienced some harsh lessons and faced difficult, trying challenges in his life. Cleverly, Foliage has packaged them in an accessible track smooth as silk and easy on the ears.
