DIE SPITZ UNLEASH NEW SINGLE “POP PUNK ANTHEM (SORRY FOR THE DELAY)” AHEAD OF THIRD MAN RECORDS DEBUT

Die Spitz are back—and louder, weirder, and more unapologetically unhinged than ever. The Austin-based punk wrecking crew just dropped their newest single and video, “Pop Punk Anthem (Sorry for the Delay),” a chaotic, snarling preview of their upcoming full-length debut Something to Consume, due out September 12 via Third Man Records.

The track is a warped love letter to obsession, riddled with jagged guitar lines, vocal grit, and the band’s signature blend of feral energy and sardonic wit. It’s raw, unfiltered Die Spitz—wailing and flailing their way through a three-minute meltdown that feels like it was pulled straight from a basement show in hell. The video is equally unhinged, featuring lo-fi visuals, surreal editing, and the kind of grungy, irreverent aesthetic that perfectly complements the song’s sonic punch.

Something to Consume marks their official Third Man Records debut, and judging by the early taste, it’s not pulling any punches. Produced by Will Yip, the album promises a genre-scrambling mix of punk, grunge, metal, and experimental noise that will either melt your face or make you question your sanity—in a good way.

Alongside the release, Die Spitz also announced a sprawling U.S. tour for fall 2025, which includes select dates opening for none other than Viagra Boys. Yes, that’s right—two of the most chaotic live bands on the planet are joining forces, and venues across the country better reinforce their barricades. The tour kicks off this September and includes major cities like Chicago, Boston, Seattle, and DC, with headline shows peppered in between.

If Pop Punk Anthem is any indication of what’s to come, Die Spitz are about to burn down every expectation you had about what a debut album should be. It’s messy. It’s loud. It’s glorious. And yeah, it was worth the damn delay.
