SNOOPER UNLEASH “GUARD DOG” FROM UPCOMING ALBUM WORLDWIDE

Nashville’s Snooper are back with their latest single, “Guard Dog,” a jittery blast of egg-punk energy paired with a retro-styled video. The track is the second taste of their upcoming album Worldwide, set for release on October 3 through Third Man Records.
Following the lead single “Worldwide,” which Glide called “bubbly and jagged,” the new track pushes deeper into Snooper’s wild creative world. Lyrically, “Guard Dog” wrestles with identity, pressure, and self-doubt while maintaining the band’s core principle: having fun. On the chorus, vocalist Blair Tramel bites back against outside judgment with sharp repetition: “Contradiction // lifestyle // Stick here for awhile // Believe it true! // Told me what to do? // Dogs only bark when I’m with you.”
Tramel explains the song’s heart: “‘Guard Dog’ is about growth. It’s about the discomfort of feeling too comfortable and recognizing when to make a change. It’s about second guessing yourself, overthinking, trust and distrust, and keeping it moving. It’s about losing and gaining perspective, having a voice, and learning how to use it. Mostly though, it’s about having fun — which is the most important thing.”
The single is accompanied by a video that captures the same chaotic energy Snooper brings to their live shows. Over the past few years, the Nashville punks — formed by Tramel and guitarist Connor Cummins — have grown from DIY circuit regulars to international underground standouts. What started as a scrappy, drum machine-driven project has evolved into a fully fleshed-out band featuring bassist Happy Haugen, drummer Brad Barteau, and guitarist Conner Sullivan.
Their new album Worldwide represents that evolution. Recorded with acclaimed producer John Congleton (St. Vincent, Sharon Van Etten, Angel Olsen), the record marks a new level of experimentation for the group. Where their 2023 debut Super Snõõper captured the rawness of their live show, Worldwide leans into rhythm, repetition, and catchy melodic hooks without sacrificing their punk fury. As Cummins puts it, “The whole idea behind this record was experimentation and change.”
Snooper will celebrate the release of Worldwide with a special hometown album release show in Nashville, bringing their frenetic energy back to the stage that first embraced them. If “Guard Dog” is any indication, this next chapter will cement Snooper not just as Nashville’s “giants of egg punk,” but as one of the most adventurous punk bands in the game today.
Worldwide arrives October 3 via Third Man Records. Watch the video for “Guard Dog” now, and preorder the album ahead of its release.
