DORIAN CREECH IS DEAD BRINGS 2000S POP-PUNK BACK TO LIFE ON “DEAR LITA CHANTLER, I’M SORRY”

Dorian Creech is dead. To some, that’s a niche TV show reference. To others, it’s simply, “Who the fuck is Dorian Creech?” But to those with exceptionally eclectic music taste, it’s a pop-punk project worth knowing.

Dorian Creech Is Dead, also known as Brandon Purvis, is a solo pop-punk project that began releasing music in 2025. Purvis previously made music with The Classic Blunders and Picking Up Pedro before stepping out on his own under the wonderfully bizarre moniker Dorian Creech Is Dead.

Dorian Creech Is Dead (oh no!) has now released an energetic new single, “Dear Lita Chantler, I’m Sorry.” The title may be a mouthful, but the song absolutely delivers, especially when it comes to Purvis’ vocals. His voice lands somewhere between Fall Out Boy’s Take This to Your Grave era and Brendon Urie on Panic! At The Disco’s A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out. When the chorus hits, it sounds like Good Charlotte, State Champs and Coheed and Cambria somehow got together and had a love child.

As the song progresses, it starts feeling like something ripped straight from the soundtrack of an early-2000s teen movie. Think 10 Things I Hate About You or Freaky Friday, complete with all the nostalgia, questionable fashion choices, and emotional drama that made that era so damn fun.

So find yourself a nostalgic movie plot, reenact it with some friends, and blast “Dear Lita Chantler, I’m Sorry” in the background. If that’s not your thing, grab some friends for a night of Magic: The Gathering or Arkham Horror instead.
