DISTANT LOVERS NEW SONG “TWO BIRTHDAYS” IS AN UNREQUITED LOVE ANTHEM

Distant Lovers is the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist Alex Lasner. His new single, “Two Birthdays” is a lovelorn, synth-pop jam about unrequited love that’s equal parts depressing and beautiful. The lyrics and Lasner’s echo-filled, ghost of relationships past, vocals are definitely on the dreary side, but his masterful use of keyboards and the song’s overall arrangement is straight-up infectious. This dichotomy might seem a bit weird at first, but it’s actually that special blend of woe is me themes versus delightful sonic textures that makes “Two Birthdays” such a standout track.
