DEER FELLOW FRONT DEBUT EP WITH HEARTFELT SINGLE “IF YOU DON’T LIE”
Indie folk-pop duo Deer Fellow bares their souls on their new single “If You Don’t Lie” as part of debut EP Words Unsaid. Based in Austin, Matt Salois (guitar, vocals) and Alyssa Kelly (violin, vocals, piano) met at an open mic and were quick to start collaborating sharing musical influence in addition to their heartwarming and healing tone.
Their new single, “If You Don’t Lie”, is entirely authentic in its songwriting acting “as a reminder not to brush your feelings under the rug”. Matt and Alyssa in part share one voice in this wonderful arrangement softly singing “I knew that something was wrong on the inside, you’re way better off if you don’t lie”, once again referring to opening up to share the weight of a partner’s emotional burdens.
The track is deeply hypnotic and full of that ever-so-sweet indie-folk charm that seems to so easily pull at the heartstrings — even when you least expect it.
