DANISH LO-FI DUO LIL CAT DROPS NEW HIT "WOMAN UP"

Danish duo Lil Cat has been around for more than a year now composed by singer/songwriters Mads Vadsager and Cathrine Van Leeuwen; inviting isolated listeners all the way into the couple’s bedroom to sojourn and experience free musical expression dealing with all the beautiful struggles of relationships and frustrations, insecurities, but most important of all self-empowerment.

With three singles out already, they’ve dropped another wild tune “Woman Up”, a phrase that I haven’t used in a while with hopes that it catches on after this release. It’s an attractive song with a very fast tempo along with rattling beats attached with low-fi bedroom aesthetics with explosive aggressiveness that you hear in Cat’s voice while you imagine both of them casting dark spells on the Draco Malfoys’ of the world. Vadsager goes on to say, “It all started when we talked about how absurd the phrase “man up” really is.

Many of us probably use a lot of phrases, which we don’t really think about and that is problematic in some way. The term “to man up” indicates that you are more of a man if you pull yourself together, which of course isn’t the case. That’s why we wanted to turn the phrase upside down and say “fuck you” to outdated gender stereotypes.” Says Vadsager. It’s a good song because it makes you seek who you were before the world told you who you should be. Don’t forget to listen to “Woman Up” out now!
