CRADLE OF FILTH BRING GOTHIC MAYHEM TO VANCOUVER’S VOGUE THEATRE

WORDS AND PHOTOS BY TAINE CONWAY

Cradle of Filth brought their Majestic in Death II tour to Vancouver's Vogue Theatre on Tuesday, October 6, delivering a night of gothic theatrics, piercing screams, and pure black metal fury. Presented by MRG Live, the evening also featured Moonspell, Worm, and Black Satellite.

From the moment the British extreme metal veterans stepped onstage, the Vogue Theatre was transformed into something straight out of a gothic horror film. Eerie blue and yellow lighting washed over the band as frontman Dani Filth commanded the stage with his unmistakable, ear-piercing screams. Behind him, the rest of the band delivered a thunderous wall of sound that made the entire performance feel larger than life.

The crowd was just as relentless. Circle pits erupted across the floor, fans surged toward the stage, and the front barrier looked like it was fighting for its life. The energy never let up.

From a photographer's perspective, the show was absolute mayhem, in the best possible way. One moment I was capturing extreme close-ups of the band's elaborate makeup and costumes, and the next I was pulling back for wide shots to showcase the dramatic lighting and movement across the stage. With Dani Filth seemingly everywhere at once, there was never a dull moment or a shortage of incredible shots.

Between the sinister atmosphere, punishing music, and a crowd that refused to stand still, Cradle of Filth delivered one hell of a performance.

Vancouver got a proper dose of gothic madness, and the Vogue Theatre was the perfect place to experience it.
