CORRE DIABLO DROP EPIC NEW PUNK JAM “MONUMENT”
Los Angeles punk trio Corre Diablo have just dropped a gargantuan new single that’s poised to crack speakers and yank heartstrings across the land. This, the title track from their upcoming album Monument, is a sprawling four-minute rager, packed to the brim with haunting guitar melodies and soul-rattling screams galore. Corre Diablo guitarist/vocalist Xavier Delgado alternates between somber, spoken-word delivery and five-alarm shrieks that get the blood flowing faster than any legal energy drink on the market ever could. Drummer Saul Arredondo and bassist Jay Calixto keep the song’s rhythm section thumping finely. While Delgado screams and unleashes waves of distorted guitar licks, Calixto keeps grooving, as Arredondo chops his snare to pieces like firewood, never relenting behind the kit. The final minute of “Monument” is the perfect encapsulation of Corre Diablo’s sound: rapturous guitar melodies floating atop a stomping half-time beat that’s both beautiful and invigorating.
