Alt-hardcore newcomers CHICO are wasting no time making their presence known.

The band has officially released the music video for their latest single, “BLUR,” while simultaneously announcing their self-titled debut album, Chico, set for release on August 14 through New Morality Zine.

“BLUR” serves as an energetic introduction to a band that isn't interested in staying confined to a single genre. Pulling from hardcore, alternative rock, punk, and modern post-hardcore influences, CHICO has crafted a sound that feels both aggressive and accessible. The track balances raw emotion with driving instrumentation, creating a release that is equally suited for stage dives and repeat headphone listens.

From the opening moments, “BLUR” captures a sense of urgency. Angular guitar work, punchy rhythms, and emotionally charged vocals propel the song forward while maintaining a melodic edge that keeps it memorable long after it ends. The accompanying music video mirrors that intensity, visually conveying the track's restless energy and emotional weight.

While CHICO may still be introducing themselves to many listeners, the band's confidence is evident throughout “BLUR.” There is a natural chemistry present that suggests a group already comfortable pushing beyond traditional hardcore boundaries while remaining rooted in the scene's DIY spirit.

New Morality Zine has become known for championing exciting voices in alternative and hardcore music, making the partnership a fitting home for the band's first full-length effort.

With “BLUR” now available and Chico arriving August 14, the band appears poised to become one of the more intriguing new names emerging from the alt-hardcore world.

Watch the “BLUR” music video now and keep an eye out for Chico when it lands later this summer via New Morality Zine.
