Mugshot aren't here to make friends—they're here to scorch the earth. The California-based hardcore wrecking crew just dropped their latest single, “Next to Your Idols,” and it’s the musical equivalent of a steel-toed boot to the teeth. Crushing, venomous, and dripping with spite, the track caps off the band’s upcoming album All The Devils Are Here, due out June 20 via Pure Noise Records.
“Next to Your Idols” is far from subtle. It’s a brutal closer—one that throws gasoline on every bridge and lights the match with a smirk. Bassist Ciro Abraham put it bluntly: “It’s morbid and super-pissed.” And that’s exactly how it sounds. This is rage channeled with surgical precision—tight grooves, suffocating breakdowns, and lyrical venom aimed squarely at false heroes and crumbling systems. It's not just heavy—it's cathartic.
This new single also marks a turning point for Mugshot. Unlike their earlier DIY releases, All The Devils Are Here brings producer Randy LeBoeuf (of Kublai Khan and Bad Omens fame) into the mix, helping shape the raw fury into something more focused without sanding off the edges. The result is their most dynamic and dangerous work to date—still volatile, but calculated in its destruction.
Mugshot will be taking this chaos on the road this summer, joining Orthodox for a full U.S. tour. If “Next to Your Idols” is any indication, fans can expect a live set that blurs the line between catharsis and collapse.
With All The Devils Are Here, Mugshot isn’t just releasing an album—they’re waging war. And “Next to Your Idols” is the final battle cry.
