CATBEAR LOOK WITHIN AS MILLENNIALS AND ITS OVERWHELMING CHALLENGES IN “GROW UP”

CATBEAR is searching for answers to the more significant questions as millennials enter their 30s with a serious but lighthearted and upbeat song, “Grow Up.” A timely and relevant single for any generation delving into the plight and predicament they face inherent to them specifically. Having never known what life was like before all this advanced technology, Zoe and Sarah, who comprise CATBEAR based between England and Brighton, contemplate all that on this electronic-based “post-punk / synth-pop millennial angst song.” The duo struggle with doing the simplest of tasks, never knowing what now seems like a past old-fashioned society compared to before apps were created, the internet, and cell phones. CATBEAR realizes they are paralyzed to an extent by having so many choices in life. That realization has made it more of a curse than a blessing. It’s clear to them that the coveted dream of owning their house and success in life they seem to want for themselves is out of reach. In part, CATBEAR lays the blame on their parents and the government. Yet the duo are taking the pressures of a rapidly changing society in stride while trying to find their place in it and make peace where they may ultimately land.
