Indie-rock quartet Castells are back at it again returning with their new energetic single “Calling Me Out”. The band previously picked up support from tastemaker Abbie McCarthy on BBC Introducing Kent with their previous single release “Viola”. The group are now continuing their campaign with the release of “Calling Me Out” building to an EP release in April 2021.

“Calling Me Out” begins with an intimate plucky guitar melody before introducing frontman's Connor Crooks’ emotional vocals. The record is generally very lively driving powerful pop-rock style guitars coupled with tuneful heartfelt lyricism.

Speaking on the single, Castells states the new single “follows an unexpected relationship emerging from meeting someone for the first time in a place far from home. The lyrics depict the thoughts that are occupying the mind of the storyteller, in the very split moment they must say their first or last goodbye”.

With “Calling Me Out”, we hear the group deliver a powerful and polished sound aided by the incredible production of Andy Hall Hall (Bastille, Marshmello, Fickle Friends, James Gillespie). The new single is an impressive follow-up to their previous release “Viola”, seeing the group keep up their 12-month campaign in strong fashion.
