CANADIAN PUNK ROCKERS METZ UNLEASE RAW ENERGY AT 1720
In a thrilling display of raw energy and unbridled passion, Canadian punk powerhouse METZ graced the stage of Los Angeles's revered warehouse venue, 1720, in honor of their latest sonic offering, Up On Gravity Hill.
On the brisk evening of Thursday, May 2, 2024, the local scene was set ablaze by the brooding intensity of Cold Gawd, their haunting melodies casting shadows against the backdrop of intense royal blues and smoke, enveloping the crowd in a haze of mystery and intrigue.
The stage was then seized by the ferocious onslaught of South Florida's own Gouge Away, whose blistering performance served as a rousing prelude to the main event. With their latest album release, Deep Sage, still fresh in the minds of fans, Gouge Away unleashed a frenzy of infectious energy, igniting the pit and setting the scene for METZ to take center stage.
As METZ unleashed their long-awaited performance upon the eager audience, the venue erupted into a frenzy of cheers, mosh pits, and crowd surfing. While reminiscing on their previous electrifying set at the Teragram Ballroom in December 2022, it was evident that the energy of the crowd was palpable, though possibly amplified by the celebration of METZ's seminal self-titled debut album's 10th anniversary. Nonetheless, the Los Angeles welcomed METZ with open arms once again, basking in the electric atmosphere of a night to remember at 1720.
