BOSTON MANOR CELEBRATE BE NOTHING. WITH NEW ACOUSTIC “DROWNED IN GOLD”

Boston Manor are taking fans back to where it all began. Ahead of the 10th anniversary edition of Be Nothing., the British rock outfit have unveiled a stunning acoustic reimagining of “Drowned In Gold,” giving one of the band's standout tracks an entirely new emotional perspective.
Trading the original's explosive energy for a more intimate approach, the acoustic version strips the song down to its emotional core. Delicate instrumentation and restrained arrangements allow the lyrics to take center stage, highlighting the vulnerability and heart that have always made “Drowned In Gold” one of the band's most beloved songs
The track also holds a special place in Boston Manor's history. Guitarist Mike Cunniff reflects, “Drowned In Gold was a really important song for us. It was written and recorded as a stand alone single with Mike Sapone while we were demoing new songs for Welcome To The Neighbourhood. In my eyes it was the perfect transition from Be Nothing. to Welcome To The Neighbourhood and allowed us to become more experimental with our music.” That sense of evolution is evident in the new acoustic rendition, which offers a fresh perspective while preserving the emotion that made the song resonate in the first place.
The acoustic release arrives ahead of the Be Nothing. 10 Year Anniversary Edition, due out August 14 via Pure Noise Records. The reissue celebrates the album that introduced Boston Manor to a global audience and helped establish them as one of the defining voices of modern alternative rock.
To mark the milestone, Boston Manor will also perform Be Nothing. in its entirety for the first time on an upcoming UK and U.S. tour. For longtime fans, it's a rare opportunity to experience the record front to back, while newer listeners can witness the album that helped launch Boston Manor's career.
A decade after its release, Be Nothing. continues to resonate with fans old and new, and this heartfelt reinterpretation of “Drowned In Gold” is a fitting reminder of why the album has stood the test of time.
