BERMUDA SEARCH PARTY’S LATEST DROP “ASKING 4 A FRIEND” IS ALL WE NEED

Sometimes, Berklee College of Music helps develop incredible artists—, and Bermuda Search Party’s lore proves this true. The carefully articulated, layered instrumentation in “Asking 4 A Friend” showcases studied musicianship.

Of course, everything can be technically correct yet lack the lust for life required for a genuinely good song. However, “Asking 4 A Friend” avoids this common mistake. The lead vocal alone is full of raw emotion, guided by perfectly stacked layers of harmonies.

A grand horn section starts around the middle of the song, which is a nice treat since other popular genres tend to avoid the inclusion of horns. Their place in the mix is just right; they are not too loud, and they don’t fade into oblivion.

Fans of Patrick Stump’s solo work, “Soul Punk,” would love “Asking 4 A Friend.” It’s akin to a modernized take on his self-recording practice, though the track was accomplished by a team of skilled players who did their jobs impressively well.
