AWARD-WINNING MELODIC ROCK-METAL BAND ESPRIT D'AIR RELEASES NEW SINGLE "LEVIATHAN"
Based in London the award-winning Esprit D'Air is comprised of vocalist, guitarist, and composer named Kai. The Japanese electronic rock/ metal project was created in 2016 and has been thriving ever since. Instead of seeking a record label, the multi-talented-instrumentalist embraced a DIY approach to their music, producing everything you hear by themselves.
Esprit D'Air became the first band in the 'J-rock' genre to be playable in the video game, Rock Band 3. Since then, Esprit D'Air has won 'Best Metal Album' at the Independent Music Awards for the release of their 2018 album "Constellations". Now, Esprit D'Air is back with their debut single "Leviathan", a song about change, melancholy, and hope in a world devastated by a global pandemic.
"We interpreted 'Leviathan' as a huge power or impact beyond human power or knowledge", says Kai. "When we wrote this, we were thinking about how significantly our world has changed with the pandemic and how we can think positively and have hopes in rough times. Through our composition and songwriting, we tried to express lights of despair, human weakness and stupidity, and human wisdom to build a new world". The song is hard, tough, and dynamic, everything you want from Esprit D'Air and more. There are patches of beautiful light piano, signifying small pockets of joy and peace in a distorted reality.
