ANXIOUS KICKS OFF NEW ERA WITH EMOTIONALLY DRIVEN SINGLE “SOME GIRLS”

They may be called Anxious, but their music is super rad. Their latest single, “Some Girls,” takes a deep dive into growing pains. Many would associate “growing up” with your teen years, but a strong argument could be found for the roaring 20s. It’s nice to feel represented in a song, especially with such technical skill and emotive performance at the forefront.

Anxious has cultivated a smooth mix of indie and rock, blending melodic goodness with a few moments of grit sprinkled throughout. They have expertly curated the feeling of being sorely misunderstood by your peers while relinquishing pretentiousness. “Pick a pin or a knife: no one gets the way you are.”

Many of these latter young adulthood conundrums are faced in solitude. This song is like a warm blanket, ironically combating feelings of anxiousness solely with the band’s empathetic viewpoints. These lyrics hit heavy, accompanied by a euphorically airy mix.

“While people lose their shape, I hold you still.”

This is the start of Anxious’ album rollout, with two other singles released earlier teasing the LP. If this indicates what the whole body of work will sound like, audiences are in for a real treat. “Some Girls” tugs on our heartstrings while still keeping our feet firmly grounded in a sobering adult reality.
