ANDY'S ROOM HITS THE NOSTALGIA NERVE WITH THEIR NEW SONG "HAPPY"
It is rare that you find a band that reminds you of a time in your life that you hold dear to your heart. For example, a lot of people really enjoy listening to bands such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Weezer, The Strokes and bands alike because they were some of the first bands they were introduced to into their world of music. Andy’s Room takes me back to the middle school days where I was just discovering bands for the first time and it truly is a magical feeling.
Inspired by bands such as Weezer, Green Days, and the Pixies, the instrumentation of “Happy” is damn near perfect when it comes to drawing influence. The kick and snare drum pattern in the intro immediately makes the hair stand up on your arm as you transport to your younger self. And once the guitar kicks in… boom. You are there.
This song has the perfect formula of organization when it comes to the verses and the chorus. The tones of the guitar have that classic early 2000’s distortion excluding the cleaner tone accompanying the verses. The guitar solo is very tasteful and catchy to the point you’d want to hear it exactly like the record if you saw them live.
I really enjoyed this track and highly recommend anyone who listens to alternative rock to listen to this song and fall in love with this band! Even the band name is nostalgic for all of our Toy Story fans! Check out Andy’s Room’s new single “Happy” available on all streaming platforms today!
