Toronto's post-grunge group The Effens pride themselves in their notorious firey vocals, screeching guitar riffs, pulsing synth melodies, and haunting harmonies. They are self-described as a "hyper-strange post-grunge four-piece who seem to take in all the vagaries of the internet age". They have released their newest single "Pavement Age" off their upcoming EP. The song takes on the perfect ingredients for the band's classic recipe: melody, sonic textures, loudness, and simplicity. The self-produced track is inspired by groups like The Pixies, Nirvana, and The Strokes.
