8mm has a haunting new track titled “Black Cat,” ready to hijack your ears. Comprised of acclaimed producer Sean Beavan, vocalist Juliette Beavan, and guitarist Jonathan Radtke, this powerhouse of a trio has just dropped one of the most epic songs of 2024 by a mile. “Black Cat” is a sprawling, slow-burning number. Its five-and-half-minute run time soars by, however. Time flies when you’re bombarded with scores of hypnotic synths, Mrs. Beavan’s uncanny voice, and meticulously placed drum beats. 8mm spends most of the song’s first four minutes crafting an eerie yet enthralling atmosphere until everything crescendos into a hail of booming drums and guitars. “Black Cat” is a killer slab of cinematic tuneage you must hear to appreciate genuinely.
