CIRCLE JERKS ANNOUNCE DELUXE REISSUE OF GOLDEN SHOWER OF HITS

Hardcore legends Circle Jerks are throwing it back to 1983 in the loudest way possible. The band has announced a deluxe reissue of their third studio album, Golden Shower of Hits, set to drop on November 14 via Trust Records. Along with the news comes a freshly remastered version of their cult classic, “When the Sht Hits the Fan.”*
Initially released in the heart of Reagan-era punk chaos, Golden Shower of Hits has always stood as one of the Circle Jerks’ most biting and satirical releases. The record famously mashed together six different pop hits into a single medley — a punk middle finger to the mainstream — while tracks like “Coup d’État” and “Rats of Reality” showed the band at their most feral. Now, with Trust Records at the helm, the album is getting the proper archival treatment it deserves.
The remastered “When the Sht Hits the Fan”* feels both familiar and sharper than ever. Long a fan favorite, the track captures the Circle Jerks’ trademark mix of cynicism and sneer, with Keith Morris delivering lines that feel just as relevant today as they did four decades ago. For many, the song is burned into memory from its cameo in Alex Cox’s cult film Repo Man. Still, the new version brings out layers of grit and immediacy that remind listeners why the Circle Jerks helped define American hardcore.
Trust Records has earned a reputation for preserving punk history without sanding down its edges, and this reissue looks to continue that streak. Fans can expect expanded packaging, archival photos, and liner notes that dive deep into the chaos of the early ’80s L.A. scene — a time when Circle Jerks were turning disillusionment into pure adrenaline.
