THE HIGH CURBS ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM HIGH SPEED, DROP “RACER #23”
Southern California’s underground keeps producing bands that feel like they’re built for sweat-soaked rooms and blown-out speakers, and The High Curbs have been quietly sharpening that edge for years. Now they’re stepping on the gas.
The band has announced their new album HIGH SPEED, set for release on May 1st, along with the arrival of a new single, “RACER #23.” The track is a fast, gritty preview of what’s to come, leaning into the band’s mix of garage-rock grit and punk urgency. It feels immediate and restless in the way their best songs do, like it barely wants to stay contained.
Formed in 2013, The High Curbs have built their following the old-fashioned way, grinding through the Southern California scene and earning it show by show. Their sound sits somewhere between raw garage rock and scrappy punk, with just enough melody to keep things stuck in your head long after the set ends.
The current lineup features Ed Moreno on vocals and guitar, Kenny Huerta on bass, and Taylor Hecocks on guitar, a trio that’s clearly locked in on pushing things forward with this next release.
Alongside the album announcement, the band has also opened HIGH SPEED, available on both CD and yellow vinyl, giving fans a chance to get in early before the release lands. Click HERE to pre-order!
They won’t be slowing down once the record drops either. The High Curbs are hitting the road this spring across North America, supporting The Red Pears and Together Pangea, two bands that share a similar DNA of fuzz, chaos, and tightly packed live rooms.
HIGH SPEED arrives May 1, with “RACER #23” out now.
