GOUGE AWAY SIGN TO RUN FOR COVER, DROP KILLER NEW SINGLE “FIGURINE”

Gouge Away by Ian Enger

Florida hardcore standouts Gouge Away have officially signed with Run For Cover Records and returned with a brand new single and video titled “Figurine.”

The track leans into the band’s signature mix of hardcore intensity and uneasy atmosphere, driven by vocalist Christina Michelle’s commanding performance. It marks the first song the band completed with guitarist Theo Hartlett (Ovlov, Pet Fox), who has been touring with the group.

Michelle said the song came together quickly while the band was on tour last fall.

“Before the tour, I was digitizing home videos and seeing myself as a kid from an outside perspective,” Michelle said. “I realized how much I made myself small because I was afraid of disappointing people. I thought I had to work really hard to be loved. Finding people who love me even when I’m a messy trainwreck completely changed my reality.”

“Figurine” also arrives with a visually striking music video. The clip cuts between a cozy, dollhouse-like green room where Michelle sings and dances in a dress and stark studio performance shots of the band playing on a glossy, wet floor. The contrast between the intimate room and the raw performance gives the video a unique look that mirrors Gouge Away’s balance of tension and melody.

The band recorded the track live to tape at Jackpot! Studios in Portland, adding to its raw, immediate energy.

Gouge Away are also set to hit the road on a series of upcoming dates alongside Wednesday, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, and more, signaling a busy new chapter for the band following their signing to Run For Cover Records.
