While best known as the drummer for Paramore, Zac Farro is stepping firmly into the spotlight with his latest solo release — a dreamy new track titled “1”, out today alongside a cinematic music video. The song is the newest glimpse into his upcoming solo album, Operator, set to drop July 18 via Congrats Records.
“1” offers a hazy, introspective ride through layered synths, lo-fi textures, and Farro’s signature understated vocal style. The track feels both intimate and expansive — like driving through a city at night with nowhere to be and everything on your mind.
The video, directed with an artful sense of nostalgia and minimalism, complements the song’s meditative mood. With analog aesthetics and surreal vignettes, it invites viewers to sit with their thoughts, embrace the weird, and find meaning in the quiet moments.
Farro’s solo project, known for blending indie pop, psych rock, and dreamy experimentalism, has long allowed him to flex creative muscles outside the Paramore universe. With Operator, he's continuing to carve a distinct identity — one that's introspective, fluid, and entirely his own.
Operator drops July 18 on Congrats Records. Until then, lose yourself in the warm melancholy of “1.”
