156/SILENCE UNLEASH NEW SINGLE “PROXY IDOLS,” ANNOUNCE TOURING PLANS AHEAD OF FROM A DISTANCE

Pittsburgh noise-metal powerhouse 156/Silence continues building anticipation for their upcoming album From A Distance with the release of their crushing new single, “Proxy Idols,” accompanied by an official music video.

The track serves as another glimpse into From A Distance, the band's forthcoming full-length effort due out September 4 via Pure Noise Records. Known for pushing the boundaries of metalcore, hardcore, and noise rock, 156/Silence have built a reputation for crafting music that is as emotionally devastating as it is sonically punishing, and “Proxy Idols” appears to continue that tradition.

Fueled by chaotic riffs, a suffocating atmosphere, and the band's trademark blend of aggression and vulnerability, “Proxy Idols” showcases the intensity that has helped set 156/Silence apart from their peers. The track moves between moments of crushing heaviness and eerie tension, creating a listening experience that feels unpredictable and deeply unsettling in the best possible way.

The accompanying music video further amplifies the song's dark themes and emotional weight, offering a visual counterpart to the band's increasingly ambitious sound. As anticipation continues to grow for From A Distance, “Proxy Idols” suggests listeners should prepare for one of the band's catalog's heaviest and most emotionally charged releases.

The new single arrives as 156/Silence prepares for a busy second half of the year. The band is set to perform at the 2026 edition of the Inkcarceration Music & Tattoo Festival on July 18, bringing their explosive live show to one of heavy music's premier summer festivals.

Shortly after, the group will hit the road with Chiodos beginning July 30, introducing “Proxy Idols” and other new material to audiences across the country. Once From A Distance arrives in September, 156/Silence will launch their own U.S. headlining tour starting September 9, giving fans a chance to experience the new album live.

From A Distance arrives September 4 via Pure Noise Records. Click HERE to preorder!
